In-Home Engagement Session - Keeping True to YOU! // Salem, Oregon

Always make sure your engagement photos represent YOU!

After my clients book a wedding or schedule an engagement session, they get a relationship questionnaire to help me get to know them better and therefore we put together an engagement session that really fits you. I am constantly trying to help my clients feel comfortable and not be intimidated by the camera. 90% of couples will tell me how awkward they are in front of the camera and they have “no idea what to do” … that’s MY JOB! Rest assured I will tell you everything and we will have a great time while the process takes place, promise!

Lyndsey & Kyle decided to do an in-home engagement session near Salem, Oregon in their beautiful and recently built home. In their relationship questionnaire they went on and on from one question to the next really describing their love for chill dates, chill evening and being home. They both have an incredible sense of family and they really spend a lot of time with their outside family as well allowing their two daughters to grow up with cousins, Aunts & Uncles + Grandparents and it is absolutely beautiful!

I showed up on the date of the session and had a quick look around. Their bedroom at the time had absolutely beautiful lighting and the colors all worked so well so we decided to do as much of the session there. I always start my clients out with simple and cozy “poses” but really I don’t pose so much, I just arrange humans so their best side and best angles are on display and they look their absolute best.

The really easy part of doing an in-home engagement session is your closet is also right there and if you wanted to change it’s super handy. For the ladies, you also have your hair and makeup supplies handy for a quick touch-up and lastly, if you have children, they can simply be in another room and you don’t necessarily have to have a sitter!!! In Lyndsey & Kyle’s situation, grandparents live just down the road so we ended there with a couple great family snuggle pile photos.
